Llardo Children's Nativity Set 1971-1974 Mary Joseph Jesus King Cow Donkey
Llardo Children's Nativity Set 1971-1974 Mary Joseph Jesus King Cow Donkey
SOLD $300.00 Sold: Oct 14, 2024 on eBayOriginal Listing Description
Here we have a vintage lot of 8 Llardo figurines. All are in pristine condition. Some stiill have a sticker number on them leading me to believe they have never been displayed. These are all glazed. Llardo made a few different series of nativity type characters over the years. This set has been called The Children's Nativity by the Llardo collecting community. This set was issued in 1969, retired in 2001, and this particular set was made between 1971 and 1974. You can tell this because In 1971 Llardo introduced a blue backstamp on there items. From 1971 to 1974 the bluestamp purposely did not have a accent over the letter o in Llardo. Llardo never used the word nativity in any of there figurines names. Instead these figurines are called Baby Jesus, Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, King Melchior, King Gaspar, King Balthasar, Donkey, and Cow. Llardo did sell second rate items called seconds that had flaws but purposely did not put their mark on the bottom. So you know these are first rate products. A $10.00 handling charge has been added so I can put insurance on the package. There is no place to add insurance in the listing or I just can't find it. You can tell I have done my research on this lot. I have also researched the true value. Some sellers are asking the moon while others are reasonable selling a piece or two at a time, with or without the box, or with different marks. This is a nice lot with all the same markings and all matching boxes with wrappings that is great for storage. This lot is very competitively priced. (Condition: Pre-Owned)
Note: This item has been sold and is no longer available. This page serves as a historical price reference for Lladro collectors and appraisers.
